Project Area: 5,000 s.f.
EI Associates recently assisted the Carlstadt School District with architectural and engineering services to convert the existing second floor Library/Media Center, Art Room and Computer Lab into a new STEAM Lab. The three subject rooms adjoin each other and will be repurposed to support a more multi-discipline educational approach that requires creativity, as well as critical thinking and problem solving. The new STEAM Lab supports educational programs which encourage students to explore, build and create.
The following are some improvements incorporated into the new STEAM lab:
- Demolition of walls separating Computer Classroom from the Media Center.
- Installation of glass partition to separate Computer Classroom from Media Center.
- Expand Media Broadcast Studio and construct new Control Room.
- Construct opening between Art Room and Library for enhanced circulation.
- New moveable storage/display in the Art Room.
- New media/computer display wall.
- New durable, seamless vinyl floor material.
- New acoustical ceiling system.
- New lighting, power and data distribution.
