As part of the facility consolidation following the purchase of Berlex Laboratories, Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals relocated their North American Headquarters to the former Berlex site. The Wayne facility houses office, warehouse, laboratory and support spaces. In order to provide new office space for an additional 300 employees, EI Associates designed the installation of a new second floor level within a former high-bay manufacturing area, utilizing the available twenty-two foot height. EI Associates also designed the installation of a new second floor addition over the former single-story Quality Control Laboratory Building. The first floor areas of the laboratory were renovated as additional office space. Approximately 70,000 sq. ft. of remodeled first floor space and 50,000 sq. ft. of new second floor space were created for a total of 120,000 sq. ft. of new office space.
